Shop Gently Used Books for a Good Cause at the Capital Book Fest
If you’re in search of your next favorite book, the Capital Book Fest probably has it in stock. The pop-up book festival just kicked off for another season in March with monthly installments through November. The next date is Thursday, August 18th, and as always, it will be held in the fresh air at Wilson Plaza.
Capital Book Fest boasts thousands of gently used books from Carpe Librum, a D.C.-based bookstore that benefits Turning the Page. This nonprofit works to get parents in D.C. and Chicago actively involved in their children’s education, in order to foster a more productive and inviting learning environment. Pore over the many books, which are all priced at $6 or less, or check out some of the other media available at the same price point. CDs, DVDs, and vinyl are all available at the Capital Book Fest, too. There’s no need to RSVP as the book festival is free. Just show up ready to shop! The outdoor marketplace is open all day long, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., so it’s a great place to go on your lunch break.
